This was another absolute gem from Saskia Walker. From the very beginning I found it engaging, and was just as interested in the storyline as the sex (and boy is it hot!). I enjoyed the interaction between the characters and found it believable and fun, and incredibly erotic. Ms. Walker has created a brilliant story; well-written, interesting, emotional at times, and a real page-turner. You don't necessarily need to have read the other two titles (Monica's Secret and Holly's Intuition) to read this book, but I'd heartily recommend all three, with this saucy little number being my particular favourite. Faye is a lucky, lucky girl... Read full review here.

Getting ready for the Autumn/Winter work schedule...
How did it get to be October? This year is flying by. Time to take stock!
First up we had a lovely break, much needed and enjoyed. It was a total chill out session where I did little else than rest and recoup. Now I'm gearing up for the autumn and winter work. My schedule is nice and straightforward...and totally packed. I'll need to keep up the pace and avoid being distracted by glittery things. :)
The main two projects are THE LIBERTINE and THE JEZEBEL, the next two novels in the Taskill Witches series. These two novels tell the stories of Jessie (THE HARLOT) Taskill's brother and sister, Lennox and Maisie. I also have a novella in progress that I'd like to complete at some point in the next few months, APPASSIONATO. All three stories are historicals set in the eighteenth century. The Taskill books are predominantly set in Scotland, and the novella is set in London. I've put my word meters up on the right hand menu, so that means I'm officially working and accountable. :o) I may zip about from one project to the other but THE LIBERTINE really ought to be project number one.
In other news, some super reviews came in while I was away from the desk. First up I ♥ Bookie Nookie gave MONICA'S SECRET a "top pick" at The Romance Reviews.
"I was totally consumed from the very beginning of this book. Not only are the characters likable, smart and hot, their sexual encounters were off the charts...wow! The cherry on top was that there was actually a story I was interested in and I truly wanted to know the outcome. I just can't say enough great things about this book. I really encourage you to get it if you are even a little intrigued by menage reads." Read full review here.
Alberta at Manic Readers gave ALONG FOR THE RIDE this awesome review and 4.5 stars:
"What a ride it is! London, Edinburgh and various points in between, indoors, outdoors, in public and private, this trio heats up the pages till I thought my e-reader was smoking! This is your book if you like lots of hot hot sex!" Read full review here.
and Silla Beaumont at Just Erotic Romance Reviews gave it 5 stars and an O for Orgasmic:
"Along For The Ride is one of the hottest, sexiest, most sensual books I’ve read! Between the erotically charged encounter between Cal and Jason to the passionate days and nights spent with the three of them, I found myself holding off on
reading the book until I had some quality “alone time.” Though the book was blisteringly hot from page one, it was also surprisingly sweet and charming."
Yay! A big thank you to the reviewers. I hope readers will enjoy the books just as much. It really makes my day to hear readers have enjoyed my work. It doesn't get better than that. :)
Have a great week, folks.

Lovely new review for HOLLY'S INTUITION
Delighted to see this new review for HOLLY'S INTUITION from Lucy Felthouse at Erotica For All and Blog Critics. HOLLY'S INTUITION is the second in a series of three, and it's always a worry that the books stand up against each other. In the reader comments at Good Reads, many readers are stating which their favourite (of the first two) was and why, which is always *really* useful feedback for an author. Anyway, here's a snippet from Lucy Felthouse:
Woot!
Wow — this is one hot book! Holly's Intuition is the perfect mix of sexiness, character development and plot. I loved all three main characters and enjoyed how the story progressed. Sadly, it had to end, but I'm definitely living in hope that Ms. Walker will revisit these three at some point in the future! A brilliant read and one I'd recommend to erotica fans, particularly if you like m/m/f threesome tales. Read more

Lovely review for HER FANTASY
Thanks to Wendy the Superlibrarian I have a review of HER FANTASY to share! It's not too often that this length of story gets picked up for review, so it was hugely encouraging to see such a postive commentary over at The Good, The Bad and The Unread. Here's a snippet:
Wahay! That made my day! I have a half finished blog post about writing ménage stories. Must finish that and post soon.
What I enjoyed about this short story is that there is an actual flesh and blood story. It’s not just a bunch of sex scenes strung together. I really feel like Walker shows me a world, a slice of a developing relationship, and I honestly find myself charmed by the romance. I like Anya and Warren. In fact, in between the hot sex and the eventual ménage a trios episode, there’s a lovely sweetness here. I also like that after the ménage it’s not just “Oh, well, that was fun.” These two actually ::gasp:: talk about it and where their relationship is heading. Read full review here.

Holly's Intuition is the second delectable book in Saskia Walker's Erogenous Zones series, and while book one, Monica's Secret was good, Holly's Intuition is truly exquisite. Stewart’s character is especially well done, and Walker does an amazing job with his "chill" attitude toward his sexuality as well as his desire to help his lover come to terms with his own. The intense conversations between the men made me feel like a sensual voyeur, and I felt like it was a privilege to be privy to their intimate conversations. And the sex...WHEW! Between the two men together and the three of them feeling their way in and out of the bedroom, Holly's Intuition was sweet and sexy from beginning to end! Stewart’s seductively dominant nature made the scenes especially erotic, and when the three of them get it on, I was sure that my Nook was going to catch on fire! Honestly, this is one of the hottest books I've read, and a large part of that is the voyeuristic vibe that Ms. Walker is able to produce in this book. I'm looking forward to reading her third book in the Erogenous Zones series about the youngest Evans sister, Faye.
Ooh, and HOLLY'S INTUITION is also coming out in print very soon, next week in fact. :) If you'd like to read an excerpt, you'll find one here.

Awesome review of THE HARLOT!
There's an awesome review of THE HARLOT at Book Binge and it made me beam! I can only hope that anyone who picks up the book enjoys it this much. The reviewer has not only teased out all the themes to share with other readers, she's also summarised them way better than I could have. ;-) This novel is one more delightful addition to Ms Walker's literary portfolio and is one of those books that entertains as it educates. A reader cannot help but be better aware of the culture of those bygone days, yet the timelessness of the power of love to overcome the greatest of prejudices stands tall. I liked this novel a lot and wholeheartedly recommend it for the lovers of historical romance fiction. I give it a rating of 4.25 out of 5. Go here to read full review.

ARC comments start to come in for THE HARLOT!
It's just a couple of weeks until THE HARLOT is due out and I'm starting to see comments and reviews from reviewers who picked up the ARC at netgalley. I've been nervous about the book's reception so it's been very promising indeed to see that readers are enjoying the story! Here are a few of the responses:
"One word... Wow! If you want a lot of steam (I'm thinkin' twenty-minute-sauna-110F-at-least steam here), with a bit of (accurate) historical stuff, and a decent plot thrown in, then this book is for you! It was my first book by Saskia Walker (received through netgalley), and it certainly won't be my last." Ruth, Good Reads reader.
"I really enjoy books by Saskia Walker. I have a hard time categorizing her books, and I like that. I’ve yet to read a book by Walker where I wasn’t thoroughly entertained by the story and the arousing sexual scenes....Overall- I loved the adventure, the paranormal elements and of course, the smoking hot sex scenes." Michelle, Good Reads reader
"This is a very erotic read and one that gradually engages the heart and pulls the reader into the story. This is one of those books where I was so strongly tempted to go to the end and find out what happened to these two. It is historically accurate and within that context is an accurate reflection of that culture. I highly recommend it and feel it is really a very find read." Judith, Good Reads reader.
"The Harlot is a story of two people thrown together, separately in search of redemption from their past, both wanting revenge for wrongs affronted to them and the hardships they had to endure. Secretly, each desires to be loved and be in a world where they’re wanted and can feel like they belong. I enjoyed learning more of Jessie and Gregor's past, it was a very sensual story filled with many of encounters. I wish I had a little more warning when it came to some of the content but having never read one of Ms. Walker's stories before; I wasn't quite sure what to expect.Overall I think the story line was good. The Harlot is about finding redemption unexpectedly, being able to trust and love again, as well as moving forward. I feel many historical romance readers and fans of Ms. Walker's will not be disappointed in this new work." Ali, Nocturne Romance reads
"Take one gorgeous rogue seeking vengeance and a desperate woman charged with witchcraft, toss them together with a healthy dose of lust and you’ve got an enticing tale of revenge, justice and magic." RT Book Reviews magazine
Very, very relieved author here! I hope that all readers who pick it up enjoy as much as these have. Fingers crossed! If you're interested and want to pick up a copy the best advance prices on the print copy are at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Alas Amazon Uk don't have it listed for pre-order as yet, but I've been chasing that and hope it comes up soon.

"In Monica’s Secret this wickedly hot story will take you down a path that is full of twists and turns and oh so hot lovin’ by two hunks. This is not your typical boy meets boy who wants girl erotic menage. I could truly feel the romance between all three of the characters and loved every page!...So if you like hunks, handcuffs, and a good mystery add Monica’s Secret by Saskia Walker to your collection today!" Rated 4 Delightful Divas by Lily at Dark Divas Reviews.
"I loved Monica’s Secret and I love the name of the series, The Erogenous Zones Series. What a great name and very appropriate for the sexual heat to be found within the pages of this book...f you are cool with ménage and enjoy a good mystery and a smoking love story, this is a great book for you." 4.5 Ravens from Lea at BlackRaven's Reviews."The energizer bunny of sexual tension is the best way to describe Monicas Secret...What a new twist on the whole psychic plane with a nicely laid out plot of secrets, lies, lust, and love. Even though it has some hot scenes in it and keeps you fanning yourself all the way through, it is not a hastily tossed together story so there is a lot of meat between the covers. If you are looking for a hot -- and I mean hot -- erotic story then this book is for you. It's one that I will be reading again myself." 4.5 stars from Myrtle at Whipped Cream Reviews.

Another great review for MONICA'S SECRET
Hey folks, I'm deeply engaged with my final polish on a contemporary erotic romance novel at the moment. Once that's completed I'll update the blog with my general news. Meanwhile, another fab review came in for MONICA'S SECRET. 4.5 ravens from Lea at Blackraven's reviews! Here's a snippet from what Lea has to say:

So pleased that this novel is getting such a great reception!
More from me as soon as the current project is done and gone. Have a great week!

I loved Monica’s Secret and I love the name of the series, The Erogenous Zones Series. What a great name and very appropriate for the sexual heat to be found within the pages of this book. The story mixes the touch of a special psychic gift, with an on-going mystery, with a couple of very handsome investigators and stirs it all up with a stick to end up with a delicious tale…The plot is believable and has enough twists and turns to keep the reader actively involved in both the love story and the mystery…If you are cool with ménage and enjoy a good mystery and a smoking love story, this is a great book for you. Terrific review for MONICA'S SECRET!
My novel MONICA'S SECRET has been given a wonderful review by Queer Magazine online. I'm thrilled by the comments! Here's a snippet:
'Monica's Secret' is a sensual voyage into Monica's paranormal view of the world, including mystery, intrigue, suspense, and a scorching, sexual ménage à trois. What makes this ménage so exceptional is Saskia Walker's brilliant blend of physicality, trust, and vulnerability.
I highly recommend 'Monica's Secret' to anyone wanting to be swept away by a great story with strong, believable characters, a touch of the paranormal, and last but certainly not least, scalding hot sex. You will not be disappointed.Read full review here

New reviews for my erotic fantasy!
Coincidentally reviews came in for two of my fantasy works these past few days, and lovely they are too!
First up a review for my shortie, ONE ENCHANTED NIGHT.
Saskia Walker has definitely fulfilled every woman’s wish to see her lover while they were away in ONE ENCHANTED NIGHT. Walker has undoubtably found a way to light the steaminess and longing within the reader. The story is rich with excitement, keeping you interested and the need alive to see exactly how Yasmin and Anwar get to enjoy their one night of passion together. My favorite part is how sensually Walker provided a fulfilled wish for anyone whose partner is away from them but still has that need for them burning brightly. Reviewed by LaNea Hartless. Read more at NovelTalk
Many thanks to Noveltalk and to LaNea (lovely name!) Secondly, thanks go out to Lucy Felthouse at Erotica For All who took the time to read and review SORCERESS.
Sorceress is a fabulous read. Although its categorisation as an exotic erotic fantasy romance is a real mouthful, it’s totally apt. I was captivated from beginning to end. I loved the setting, the characters, the intrigue and the eroticism. It wasn’t just “a story with sex”, it was a genuinely captivating tale which I found really interesting and absorbing. It’s a little like Aladdin with more evil and sex, I guess. An absolutely top-notch read. If you’re looking for something a little different, definitely give Sorceress a try. Hats off to Ms. Walker. Reviewed by Lucy Felthouse.

5 hearts for RAMPANT from The Romance Studio!
Back to writing here after that short break last week, and I'll post more about what I'm working on between now and Christmas. Meanwhile, I thought I'd share a new review. I woke up to this wonderful commentary on RAMPANT today! Many thanks to Roxanne and The Romance Studio for taking the time to look at my book and comment.
Happy dancing!
When Zoe Daniels arrives at her rented cottage in Scotland, a lovely find thanks to her sister, her plan is to unwind and take some time for herself. The demands of her career and the loss of her mother have taken their toll, and the beautiful landscape of the Scottish coast seems just the thing.
Relaxation isn't to be as Zoe, upon arrival, is plagued by paranoia and sexual desire like nothing she's ever experienced. Particularly where sexy Grayson Murdoch is concerned. The academic is her neighbor, in the area to study the local folklore, in particular the area's historical witches. Together they are thrown into a maelstrom of lust, danger, and ghostly possession. Will they survive?
When I elected to read this work, I expected the suggested paranormal elements to be used merely as a catalyst for several sexual escapades. While this expectation was met, what I didn't anticipate was how well and how fully realized the world of witches, magic, and possession would be in this story. It provided an eerie atmosphere and an underlying sense of danger that framed what was a really good story.
The characters were fantastic. Zoe was immensely likeable and fragile, but strong when faced with a situation that would break many people. Watching her cope with the danger gathering around her, enveloping her, was a real treat. Grayson, who didn't initially seem like he'd be a good match for her was a wonderful complement and perfect for both her and this story. The secondary characters were just right, the dialogue was good, and the pacing of the story increased as it went along to heighten the sense of danger. The setting couldn't have been better. I absolutely loved this story. The author did a tremendous job of taking what looks like just another paranormal erotic work and creating a tale that is unforgettable.
Overall rating: 5 hearts
Sensuality rating: Explicit

Time out for a writer. What does that actually mean?
After the summer-of-many-deadlines I came to the conclusion that I needed a few days away from the keyboard. What does "time out" actually mean for a writer who is attempting to make a living at the job she loves? ;o) Well, for this one it means doing stuff like cleaning house, washing the curtains, weeding and pruning, getting the boiler serviced, reading for friends, checking supplies, and updating accounts. In other words it’s hardly a rest. Then again, a change is as good as a rest. It’s been a good chance to do some of the stuff that I don’t get done the rest of the time, and I do feel refreshed.
In reality, a writer’s work is as long as a piece of string. If you’re trying to make it pay your bills, as many of us are, the best thing you can do to build your career is: keep writing, do as much promo as you can hack, and pretty much everything else (that is non life threatening or the man of your dreams) takes second place. Yay, that means the dishes can wait, right? ;o)
However, I do have a couple of fun days ahead -- also vital to refill the creative well. Dangerous Liaisons in Ballet form, courtesy of the Northern Ballet company (a birthday treat from my Real Life Hero!) and a trip out for some Yorkshire scenery, shopping and lunch. Then it’s back to the writing schedule until the end of the month when we escape to the rugged East Coast.
Meanwhile, a super new commentary came in for RAMPANT, from author Casey Sheridan. She said: Wonderfully written. Unique story. Luscious hero. Scorching hot read. I loved it! One of my top five favorite books. 5/5 stars.
Yay! Thanks Casey. I’ve also seen a review of the Italian translation. I don’t speak Italian but I get the feeling that “Splendido...” and “Bello, bello, bello!” sound like the reader might have enjoyed it. :)
Good Reads readers have posted some very encouraging responses to RAMPANT. Thank you so much! I appreciate every post, and I’m so pleased readers are enjoying this book!
I promised some special blog posts on my research and resources, and a discussion about the artifacts that are still extant from the time of the Scottish witch trials. Those things are on my to-do list, so do call back if you’re interested in finding out more about the background to my Scottish witchcraft novels. (Both RAMPANT, out now, and THE HARLOT, June 2011)
Meanwhile, if you’ve read RAMPANT and enjoyed it do let me know, or post a review comment. I’m trying to decide whether to do more paranormal and reader feedback is the best feedback I can get.

Lovely review for SORCERESS!
More smiles from unexpected sources here today! This lovely commentary was written for the Total-E-Bound newsletter by fellow author, Rachel Randall.
Thank you, Rachel!
Epic love, epic lust, epic action. That’s how I’d describe Saskia Walker’s Sorceress. Yet at the same time, Walker’s world is incredibly intimate and I was fully immersed. Alongside the Empress Elishiba, I could smell the exotic incense from the braziers, feel the breeze through the jewel-like courtyards and yearn to touch my lovers (and there was a delightful choice!)
The plot is simple despite the detail surrounding it. To save her kingdom from war, Elishiba must leave it to marry a man she doesn’t know. While her betrothed’s evil mother schemes to rob her of everything she holds dear, his mysterious emissary Emshazar awakens to her to her own powers of sorcery and a deeper passion than Elishiba has ever known. And when they finally defy danger and give in to their feelings, Elishiba and Emshazar soar (literally, in a truly magical love scene).
Sorceress is super novel length, which means Walker can indulge in sensuous detail about these kingdoms. It also allows her space to create the memorable Empress Mehtap, the scariest in-law you’ll ever meet. All the characters benefit from careful attention—despite being secondary, there isn’t a two-dimensional face in the palace.
Which is why I should warn that Walker takes no prisoners. I cared about the characters, which made certain uncomfortable elements such as slavery and heartfelt losses harder to deal with. Plus, there’s Walker’s cruelty, did I mention she’s a terrible tease? (Poor aroused Kerr! Those sexy twins drove me crazy too!)
All credit to Walker who, despite the complexity of her world, made it clear what simple things ultimately matter through her happy ending. Like a piece of ripe fruit served up on a golden platter—or a beautiful young man bent solely on giving you pleasure—Sorceress is a treat to savour.
Thank you, Rachel!

Hi honeys, I'm home!
We’re back from the Lake District where we experienced just about every type of weather in just a few short days. Regardless of the typically unreliable conditions we enjoyed amazing scenery and a long overdue break from being on a computer all the time. I've refilled my creative well, which is good news because the next 9 or 10 weeks are all about meeting deadlines.
Came back to lots of good news and a major bummer -- my website had been hacked. Nasty peeps! :( We’ve got it all sorted and running again now, a major task. Many apologies if you called around when it was acting weird.
The good news: first up 2 new short story sales. I’ll have a story in the PASSION anthology, due out in November! This one is erotic romance for women, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel and published by Cleis Press. In the same batch of email came news that I had a story accepted for THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF HOT ROMANCE! This one is edited by Maxim Jakubowski, due out Spring 2011.
I also received my copy of RT Book Reviews Magazine and found reviews of 3 anthologies that include my work, all due in July. SECRETS VOLUME 29 (Red Sage) and ALISON’S WONDERLAND (edited by Alison Tyler) both got 4 star reviews and FAIRY TALE LUST (edited by Kristina Wright) got a 4.5 review. Very exciting to see them all featured there and so well received.
It also made me realise that I have work in SIX anthologies all being published in July! 5 short stories and a novella. It's just the way it happens, I didn't produce them all in one month, believe me. I wish! :o) But the blog will be featuring each book as it comes out. Lots of new short stories and a novella that I absolutely adored writing, it's an exciting time!
Have a great weekend!

More great feedback for RAMPANT!
Susan Rix has reviewed RAMPANT, and she has some super things to say!

Thank you, Susan! I couldn't be more pleased with the responses this novel is getting. Happy, happy days! :)
Just a quick post today. Loverboy and I are busy throwing a few things in a bag here. We're off to the Lake District for a few days midday on Monday. On the agenda: fresh air, reading, rest, and lots of lovely together time. Can't wait. :)

Susan's rating: 5 of 5 stars
Rampant is Saskia Walker’s first novel for Harlequin Spice and my first Spice read.
Phewww! There’s nothing like jumping in at the deep end and the author does this with the very first words of Rampant’s prologue. This leaves you in no doubt that you’re reading erotic fiction. Yet, as with all the stories Saskia Walker writes, there’s much more to them than their erotic nature... Read full review here!

INESCAPABLE is up for book of the week at Whipped Cream!
I'm gradually clawing my way back to the land of the living after the flu from hell. Thanks to all those who sent me lovely get well messages! They really helped.
My work schedule has taken a bit of a knocking, alas. I've had to cross a couple of things of my to-do list, calls I was hoping to sub for, and I've had to negotiate a small extension in case I need it with one of my epub editors. Not good at all, but hopefully I can pull things around. My schedule is a perfect fit until something goes wrong. ;o)
Some exciting news just in really spurred me on! I got a note from Whipped Cream Reviews to say that INESCAPABLE is part of the Book of the Week Poll. Here's the link to the poll, if you enjoyed INESCAPABLE please consider calling by and leaving your vote!

I really enjoyed the story. Many plots in this genre rely on just the sexual relationship and never focus on an actual story, but this one delivered on both counts. It's a sexy ménage story with a suspenseful plot intertwined within it. The characters are all very likeable. The dialogue is very natural sounding, and the pacing ideal for this genre.
Some chapter endings had me worried about the welfare of these three people which is always a good sign and kudos to Ms. Walker for making me feel on edge as I read this story. In fact, all through this book I kept thinking about how this was going to end and who Lily would ultimately end up with. I can't give away the ending but let me just say it's very satisfying.
If you're looking for a sexy story with a good plot and not just page after page of descriptions of sexual acts, I recommend Inescapable to you. Read full review here.

RAMPANT is a Joyfully Recommended title!
Thrilled to bits here, Amelia at Joyfully Reviewed has listed RAMPANT as a Joyfully Recommended title! Here's what she had to say:

*happy* :)
Oh my…grab a bucket of ice, set it by the fan and then turn off the phone, because once you start this novel you won’t want to put it down. Rampant is by turns sexy, erotic and dark, and it kept me enthralled, page after page. I fell in love with Zoë from the opening scene. She is an independent woman who doesn’t allow herself to be lead around by the nose. Her reactions to the things that happen are realistic and heart-felt, and at times I could see myself with her, wondering what was happening and what she was going to do about it.To say I loved the ride this book took me on is an understatement. When I had to put it down I thought about when I could go back to Carbery and see what would happen next; and when I finished it I wanted to read it again, just so I could absorb more of the story.
If you enjoy books that explore the darker side of love you’ll savor this one. I know I relished each sexy, dark angsty moment. Rampant is definitely a keeper for me, and a Joyfully Recommended title. Read full review here.

Woohoo! 5 stars from JERR for INESCAPABLE!
Title: InescapableAuthor: Saskia Walker
Publisher: Total E Bound
Reviewer: Aggie Tsirikas
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat Level: H
Lily Howard finds she can reveal all her fantasies to her online lover. After agreeing to meet Adrian Walsh she accidentally walks into a crime scene and is subsequently put into witness protection with him and sexy police officer Seth Jones. Tempted and tantalized by these two very different men free Lily of any inhibitions. But will the ever-present danger shatter their newly formed bond?
I’ve always found Ms. Walker to flawlessly write characters and make their motives seem real, and never more so when it comes to a ménage story where the emotions of the characters involved have to be genuine and sincere for the reader to relate and accept what’s happening. This is obvious in Inescapable’slead trio. Readers are swept away with this absorbing tale that takes place in one of my favorite cities, London, and in Wales. The main focus is the developing relationship between Lily, Adrian and Seth as it evolves using the plot as a primary device and allowing the story to effortlessly take shape. Adrian and Seth are divergent in their personality and this makes for lively reading, but when it comes to their feelings for Lily they are in total synchronicity. The dynamics are interesting between the three main characters and makes for fascinating reading in how they become emotionally involved, and in the process empowering Lily. Expect some one on one action, voyeurism and m/f/m action that is steamy and will make you burn. With a scene-stealing opening, three strong main leads, some interesting secondary characters, a few unexpected twists in this intriguing plot, and some very passionate scenes, Inescapable makes for a very satisfying read. Get your copy now!
A big thank you to Aggie Tsirikas and JERR for reviewing the book!

Good things going on: a new sale and a new review
Yesterday I had some terrific news. My short story “The Woman in His Room” has been selected to appear in the next volume of THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF BEST NEW EROTICA. I was giddy when I heard! This is a prestigious annual collection and it's an honour to have one of my stories appear in it. “The Woman in His Room” originally appeared in GIRLS ON TOP, edited by Violet Blue and published by Cleis Press. In more good news, Ashley Lister has reviewed UNLEASHED on behalf of the Erotica Readers and Writers Association, and he’s said some amazing things about my work! Ashley Lister is a prolific author and a creative writing tutor. To have someone with those qualifications say positive things about what I'm doing is an enormous boost. Writing isn’t always the easiest job, it’s lonely and it demands all the things being self-employed does--self-motivation, belief, confidence. I don’t often find myself firing on all cylinders, and I'm especially shaky when it comes to the confidence requirement. Often I feel as if I’m reaching for stars that are way beyond me. When I read what Ashley Lister said about my work, I was SO encouraged.
As anyone who reads this blog knows, I've been writing short stories for a long while now. It's where I started and for the longest time that was all I did, then I moved into longer works. Ashley has read several collections that included my work before now, and he has said some wonderful things about my efforts when reviewing those books. In this latest review, he looks at my single author short story collection, UNLEASHED. Here's a snippet of what he had to say:

Few people recognise that the short story is an art form distinct from the novel. Instead of seeing short fiction as a stand-alone art, they see short stories as a condensed novel: which is not how it works. Mastery of one form does not automatically suggest competence in the other. However, when you come across the work of a writer like Saskia Walker, you find yourself in the hands of an author who can proficiently write novels and short fiction and make either genre irresistible.
Unleashed is a collection of short stories for the Saskia Walker aficionado. Written with Ms Walker’s distinctive voice – never telling the story, always allowing events to unfold before the reader – Unleashed comprises a collection of twenty delicious erotic shorts all written by the inimitable Saskia Walker...

I am hugely encouraged, thank you Mr Lister!
Meanwhile, on the work front, I completed a short story earlier this week and I’m now back working on the main project, THE HARLOT. It's going slowly but it is moving, and having some self-belief nudged my way helps me no end!
