This was another absolute gem from Saskia Walker. From the very beginning I found it engaging, and was just as interested in the storyline as the sex (and boy is it hot!). Did her psychic powers run to reading minds, Jai wondered, or was she just attuned to the erotic suggestion between them? It wasn't something he'd considered. This was one sexy lady.

It was time to edge things forward.

"I'm curious. You thought we were partners in a relationship. Did you really think we were gay?"

"Yes, I'm curious about that as well," Garth said, "do we really look like a gay couple to you?"

Faye's mouth twitched at one corner. "Actually, I didn't think you were gay. More like bisexual." She lifted her glass and sipped from it again, eyeing them over the edge as she did so.

Jai knew an aroused woman when he saw one, and she was enjoying this. "Go on."

She shrugged, and her eyelids lowered as she focused on her glass in the table. Still the smile hovered around her mouth.

"Tell us why you thought that," Jai encouraged. "More to the point, tell us why that interested you so much."

Her eyelids flashed up and she stared across at him, her lips parted as she addressed the undertone in his questioning.

She was about to spill. He was sure he was on the right path and he had this hunch about what was going on in her mind.

"You're a forthright woman," he added. "You told Garth here he hadn't done his research on this place." Jai nodded his head in Garth's direction.

She chuckled softly, and he noticed her breathing pattern had altered, because her chest rose and fell rapidly. The rise of her breasts beneath her silky dress caught his attention. In her cleavage, the skin shone in the light from the overhead spots.

"Oh, it's just because I know someone who is involved with two men." She looked across at them for their response.

Jai's interest was already piqued, and now it was growing.

"What, you mean they have someone on the side?" Garth asked.

Sometimes his old friend could be slow on the pickup. Jai blamed that on Garth's strict upbringing. It left him bewilderingly innocent of the kinky goings on in the world. He fiddled with his wine glass, wanting to edge it on, but knowing Garth needed to grow into this comfortably if it was going to move forward at all. "My guess is Faye means her friend has two men at the same time, am I correct?"

Her pupils had dilated. She nodded.

"Tell us more, I'm fascinated." The fact she was interested in it and had deliberately mentioned it turned him on. Of course Garth might not be able to handle it this time either, if she actually said it aloud, but that was a risk he was going to have to take to find out more juicy details.

She took a deep breath, but then faltered and seemed to freeze before she spoke. She glanced left, past them, into the darkness of the hallway beyond the kitchen.

That's when Jai felt it, exactly what he'd felt on several occasions before. The atmosphere changed, tightened somehow, as if an external force shot tension through the air. He felt a presence at his back and the smell of that cheap perfume. Their resident ghost was somewhere in the vicinity.

Faye looked back at them. "Keep talking to me," she said beneath her breath. "Don't stop."

Before Garth had a chance to flood the place with light, Faye turned and locked eyes with him and it changed everything. The look she gave him made him reconsider. Half-lit, she looked so damn sultry. The lights were perfect as they were. There was an invitation there in her eyes. She didn’t want him to leave them alone.

Garth couldn't walk away.

Jai lifted his head too and without breaking the entwined embrace they were locked in, they both stared Garth’s way.

Expectation built in the atmosphere.

“Our host looks as if he thinks he’s missing out on the action,” Jai commented.

Garth gritted his teeth, determined not to let Jai rile him, not now. Instead he studied Faye, wanting to know her thoughts, determined to do so.

She nodded at Jai’s comment, but she didn’t break the eye contact she maintained with Garth.

Garth clung to that. “You’re my guest. Are you comfortable with this…situation?”

After a long moment she responded. “I think so, if you are?”

Her voice trembled slightly, but she wasn’t under pressure. Was Jai right, did she want them both? Was she kinky that way and, if so, what did she want exactly—a threesome, or someone to watch her getting it on with Jai? The questions flooded his mind, and Izzy strolled through his confused thoughts again as well, making him question his own motives.

This was not about Izzy. That much he knew, despite Jai’s suggestion that it was. He was a different man now and he wanted Faye.

Faye shifted within Jai’s grasp. “I thought you two had done this before.”

Nonplussed, Garth gave her a querying look.

“Shared a woman,” she added.

Jai only seemed to thrive on her remark. He locked both arms around her waist and watched Garth over her shoulder, his mouth curved at one corner. “You like the idea do you, the idea of Garth and I sharing a woman?”

“Yes, but I thought that’s what you…” Her voice trailed off and her eyelids lowered. Her cheekbones coloured.

Garth could see that Jai stroked her again, moving his hand over her hip bones. He rocked against her from behind. Garth curled his hands into fists. She would be able to feel everything against her back, and Jai was bound to have an erection. Christ knows he had one, and he wasn’t even touching her.

“No, we haven’t shared a woman.” Garth put it out there, needing to state that truth, but perversely also wanting to push things forward. Garth twitched with annoyance. He was being drawn in but he resented the feeling that he was being manipulated by his more experienced friend. “Show some respect. Faye is our guest, not a plaything.”

Jai gave a husky laugh. “Well, Faye, your honourable host is worried that you aren’t happy about this. If he could feel the energy coming off you,” he paused and ran his fingers from her chin down her neck and into her cleavage, before cupping his hand around one breast, “I don’t think he’d have any doubts.”

Garth ground his teeth, narrowing his eyes as he observed.

Faye’s eyelids lowered and she moaned aloud when Jai’s hand moved around her breast, holding her through her dress. “I’m okay,” she murmured, panting for breath, and looked at Garth. “Don’t worry.” Then she reached out her hand to him, her fingers beckoning to him. “Please, come closer.”

Aside from that her waist-length dark-blonde hair and tall, curvy figure gave her a statuesque look that had caught his attention the moment she’d moved into the flat next door to his. “Of course I’ve noticed,” Joshua replied, “but that’s not why I’m inviting her over.”

Stewart gave him a fake punch in the shoulder. “You’re a good cook, but your tastes are too rich for me.” He slapped his belly, all hard muscle from his hours in the gym. “Protein,” he added in a demanding tone.

“Carbs,” his cyclist lover responded, cheekily.

It was a familiar point of contention. However, it was good to see Joshua feeling social again. He loved to cook for people, but in the days since his accident he’d been a bit withdrawn. This was a good sign, and having Holly over for dinner would be fun.

Before Stewart left he closed the gap between them and kissed Joshua full on the mouth, cupping the back of his head in one hand. Joshua responded, his hands on Stewart’s hips making Stewart wish he didn’t have to open up at the gym that morning. He was getting hard, and a morning session would be appreciated. Time was against them, though.

“You’d better hit the shower, and fast,” he said huskily as they drew apart, glancing down at his lover’s naked body, “or neither of us will get to work on time.”

Meg trembled as she watched him move around, stacking logs in the grate and lighting the kindle. The way his shoulders moved as he worked made her long to touch him, to stroke her hands over his muscular form.

The smell of the burning kindle reached her. Then he was back, standing in front of her, towering over her. “Are you ready to talk?”

No! She shook her head. This time, her denial was because she wasn’t ready to talk, not yet. Not until this overwhelming feeling of being exposed died down. It wasn’t going away any time soon either, because images of their bedroom flitted through her mind. She’d left the books and magazines out. It had never occurred to her that he would call by. It's been a hectic few days of editing and proofing galleys here – lots of new stuff coming soon!

Latest book news is that SORCERESS is now available at All Romance Ebooks, Kindle US and Kindle UK. It will also be on Fictionwise soon. It hasn't popped up in print in the UK as yet, but that's in the pipeline.

Only a week until MONICA'S SECRET is out! My editor said this was her favourite of all my Total-E-Bound books, she loved it. I'm hoping readers will like it as much as she did.

Once again I'm behind with my blog plans. The writing always has to come first, but I'm hoping to play catch up this week before we go away to Northumberland.

Saskia Walker has definitely fulfilled every woman’s wish to see her lover while they were away in ONE ENCHANTED NIGHT. Walker has undoubtably found a way to light the steaminess and longing within the reader. The story is rich with excitement, keeping you interested and the need alive to see exactly how Yasmin and Anwar get to enjoy their one night of passion together. My favorite part is how sensually Walker provided a fulfilled wish for anyone whose partner is away from them but still has that need for them burning brightly. Reviewed by LaNea Hartless. Sorceress is a fabulous read. Although its categorisation as an exotic erotic fantasy romance is a real mouthful, it’s totally apt. I was captivated from beginning to end. I loved the setting, the characters, the intrigue and the eroticism. It wasn’t just “a story with sex”, it was a genuinely captivating tale which I found really interesting and absorbing. It’s a little like Aladdin with more evil and sex, I guess. An absolutely top-notch read. If you’re looking for something a little different, definitely give Sorceress a try. Hats off to Ms. Walker. I'm eleventyhundred years old today!

And, yes, I am taking the day off! :)

In fact I already had yesterday off. I had a nasty appointment (boo hiss) first thing in the morning but then scooted off to hang out with writing buddy, Portia Da Costa. Lovely treat!

Today Loverboy is working a short day in order to take me out for supper in the city as well as two much anticipated exhibition visits, the Hermann Obrist Art Noveau sculpture exhibition, and the Heroes and Heroines Hollywood Costumes exhibition. Squeeeeeee!

I suppose it's rather unseemly for an eleventyhundred year old woman to be so over-excited, but...what the hell, ay. :o)

Lovely review for SORCERESS!

Epic love, epic lust, epic action. That’s how I’d describe Saskia Walker’s Sorceress. Yet at the same time, Walker’s world is incredibly intimate and I was fully immersed. Alongside the Empress Elishiba, I could smell the exotic incense from the braziers, feel the breeze through the jewel-like courtyards and yearn to touch my lovers (and there was a delightful choice!)

The plot is simple despite the detail surrounding it. To save her kingdom from war, Elishiba must leave it to marry a man she doesn’t know. While her betrothed’s evil mother schemes to rob her of everything she holds dear, his mysterious emissary Emshazar awakens to her to her own powers of sorcery and a deeper passion than Elishiba has ever known. And when they finally defy danger and give in to their feelings, Elishiba and Emshazar soar (literally, in a truly magical love scene).

Sorceress is super novel length, which means Walker can indulge in sensuous detail about these kingdoms. It also allows her space to create the memorable Empress Mehtap, the scariest in-law you’ll ever meet. All the characters benefit from careful attention—despite being secondary, there isn’t a two-dimensional face in the palace.

Which is why I should warn that Walker takes no prisoners. I cared about the characters, which made certain uncomfortable elements such as slavery and heartfelt losses harder to deal with. Plus, there’s Walker’s cruelty, did I mention she’s a terrible tease? (Poor aroused Kerr! Those sexy twins drove me crazy too!)

All credit to Walker who, despite the complexity of her world, made it clear what simple things ultimately matter through her happy ending. Like a piece of ripe fruit served up on a golden platter—or a beautiful young man bent solely on giving you pleasure—Sorceress is a treat to savour.
