Yummy new cover art - GOING DOWN (Jan 2012)

He was a confident man, subtly commanding, too. Would he be like that as a lover? Yes, I just knew he’d be masterful.

Jennifer hoped she’d meet someone during her six-month stay in Paris, but she didn’t expect to find a captivating man like her neighbor Armand Lazare on her very first day. From their initial encounter in their building’s antique elevator, he makes her feel wanton, excited and unexpectedly aroused by the way he takes control. But as much as this new desire unnerves Jennifer, she’s even more eager to explore it—with Armand as her master….

Coming in January 2012!

COVER COPY: It is a Dark Era, one when a lusty lass will do what she must to survive. Even if it means bartering flesh for a palmful of coins…

Until one night when she's accused by a rival, and Jessie finds herself behind prison walls with a roguish priest unlike any man of the cloth she has known.

MAMMOTH THREESOMES - US and UK Covers

For anyone who was interested in my recent post about the different covers on the US and UK editions of THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF THREESOMES AND MORESOMES, here are the final versions.

The US cover is on the left, UK on the right. Same cover, image filtered on the US version... fascinating!

Yes, my author copies arrived today! :) Checking out the contents list I'm awed and honoured to have my story listed in such a great line up! The book really lives up to its Mammoth name, and it's great value. If you enjoy threesome (or moresome!) stories, be sure to check it out!

US versus UK covers: Mammoth Book of Threesomes & Moresomes

Here's a fascinating one. The Mammoth Book of Threesomes has just been published in the UK. Yay! It publishes Stateside in November. I'm excited, I have a story in this collection! (More on that another day.)

Check out the yummy covers. The US is on the left, UK on the right. Personally I like them both, but I do think the US cover would be more likely to haul me across a shop to look at it more closely. That's because of the bold eye contact, (always draws me in) the full cover layout, and that dramatic title strap which naughtily suggests both bondage and censorship to me. The UK cover is softer, but it's beautiful in it's own way. Does it indicate the UK is more open to f/f/m, I wonder? Personally, I think we probably are. In the British erotica I grew up reading f/f scenes are fairly common, not so much Stateside. Of course some of us are doing our damndest to change that situation. Ahem. Grin.

Sharing yummy cover news

I've been knocked back by some sort of evil lurgi these past 2 days, so it was even more of a treat than usual to find a totally yummy cover in my mailbox when I crawled out of bed. Nothing like a sexy book cover with your name on it to chase away the sick bay blues! :) Check it out.

Two men have walked in to Monica Evans’ life, and it isn’t ever going to be the same. Owen Clifford and his lover, Alec Stroud, are investigating fraud at Monica’s place of work, a luxurious London hotel. From the moment they meet, the chemistry between the three of them is off the scale.

But Monica has a secret, and it isn’t anything to do with fraud. Like her sisters, Monica is a psychic. In Monica’s case the gift is psychometry—when she touches objects or people she can experience their sexual history. Can she ever truly share that with a lover, let alone two bisexual lovers? Something about Owen and Alec captures her though, literally. Willingly bound and seduced, Monica opens up to them, physically, emotionally, and psychically.

Owen and Alec have been looking for their third, and they believe Monica might be the one to complete their lives. But Monica's secret isn't the only barrier these two have to break down in order to win their woman. Fraud, duplicity, and mysterious threats add to their complications. For Owen and Alec, the challenges are stacking up and the race is on.

Coming later in 2010!

New book cover: SORCERESS

SORCERESS is coming in June, and here is the gorgeous cover!

SORCERESS is a reissue of a previously published novel, UNVEILING THE SORCERESS. The book has been revised and expanded for publication with Total-E-Bound. I couldn't be more pleased with the cover because getting the ethnicity right was important. As much as I loved the previous cover, which truly was a work of art, the model was more western looking than I would have liked. I was able to put my concerns on the cover art form this time around and I’m happy to confirm the result is much more fitting for the heroine.

Elishiba is the Empress of a fantasy land that is based on Middle Eastern and North African ancient worlds. The legends that influenced me as I wrote this story were that of Solomon and Sheba, and Scheherazade. This model really fills my heroine's shoes! :)

SORCERESS is due out on June 7th! Here's the summary:

In an ancient world where magic is within the grasp of every soul, a passionate and forbidden affair threatens the stability of many lands.

The Empress Elishiba has vowed to protect her people, even if it means marrying an enemy. When the mysterious man known as Amshazar arrives as a spokesman for her future husband, her problems multiply. Amshazar is an attractive and powerful man who is rumoured to be a sorcerer, and he is allied to her enemy. Consorting with him would be disastrous. Why then does she let him arouse her and distract her from her goal?

Amshazar is a powerful magi and an envoy of the gods. Lusting after the Empress Elishiba was not part of his plan, and yet he cannot resist. The connection is vital, the desire undeniable.

Their forbidden affair captures them in a web of danger, a web where magic and romance weave their own vibrant and inexorable threads. As the enemy seeks to destroy Elishiba and all she stands for, Amshazar must fulfil his duty and empower her as a powerful Sorceress, whatever the cost.

What's on the desk, and 2 new reviews

One of the things I’ve been working on these past few days is proofing galleys for UNASHAMED. This is a collection of my short stories from across the time I’ve been writing, a follow up/partner book to UNLEASHED. This one includes (amongst 17 others) my very first ever paid sale, “In Pursuit of Knowledge,” which has been out of print for ages. It was the first erotic short story I ever wrote, my first paid sale, and it appeared in the first ever erotic short story anthology published by Black Lace, a book called SUGAR AND SPICE. I recently had rights returned by Black Lace/Random House and I’m delighted to be able to include it.

UNASHAMED will be published by eXcessica later in the year, in both ebook and print. Here’s the cover flat.

Two great new reviews for RAMPANT came in over the last week or so. I'm so glad readers are liking this book!! First up some great comments from Love Romances Blogspot:

This book pulled me in so completely I didn't even notice how uncomfortable my computer chair was. I was drawn to this book because of the paranormal aspects of the book. I'm not even sure how to describe this book except to say, it sizzles! I never thought of myself as a blusher when it comes to reading erotica, but I must say I found myself doing that a lot while reading this great story...

If I had this book in paperback form I think I would have devoured this book in one sitting. It's one of those books that just pull you right in. I wasn't prepared for how well, sizzling the love scenes were-but you know something, they all fit with the story...there was a tiny bit of everything: m/m, (very briefly) and few almost w/w scenes. I really liked Zoe and could feel the turmoil she was dealing with-everything from the recent death of her mother, to the weird stuff happening in her vacation cottage, to being drawn to three different guys. There were two scenes with marmalade and wine, that made me go "why haven't I ever thought of that?" This book also has flashbacks from Annabel's life, and I have to say I loved that storyline-and the paranormal aspect of just made the story that much more compelling. Full review.

And 4/5 stars and more good news from Night Owl Reviews:

This was the perfect blend of suspense, mystery, magic, and just enough hot steamy sex to keep everything interesting without overwhelming the plot. I enjoyed how I was kept guessing until the very end -- not that it wasn't clear who was the ultimate bad guy in the situation, but I loved how his followers actually seemed to be humans with very real questions and desires instead of just being dead-eyed flunkies in it for the kicks of being evil. For that matter, even the big baddie comes across as deceptively human and sympathetic at times. Walker weaves a tight tale, not only keeping all the elements of a good mystery in line, but also retaining all the good parts of mundane living: food, eating, family, and of course, the rousing sex. With this on the bookshelf, I know I'll definitely be looking forward to more of Walker's novels in the future. Sex and magic -- what's not to like? Full review.

In book availability news, INESCAPABLE is now available from Fictionwise and All Romance Ebooks, and in print from Amazon.com.

I've got another new cover to share tomorrow!

New cover: SECRETS volume 29

SECRETS volume 29 will be published by Red Sage in July! This one includes my novella, SWEET-TALKING THE OPPOSITION, a contemporary erotic romance. I'm in great company! I get to share the pages with Nathalie Gray, Dominique Sinclair, and Nicole North.

Here's the copy for my contribution:

London-based journalist, Eliza Jameson, is on assignment on a luxurious Rhine river cruiser when she finds the perfect distraction on board — old flame, Marcus Weston. But Eliza came dangerously close to falling for Marcus last time around, and in order to play him at his own game, she decides to call the shots. Meanwhile, Marcus has his own agenda. In the ensuing battle, who will end up on top?

RAMPANT cover flats arrive!

I had the most wonderful surprise yesterday when the postman delivered 5 cover flats for RAMPANT! I've only ever had cover flats from one publisher - Black Lace. I'd forgotten that Harlequin sent them out to, and it was a real treat to see it for real.

The scan doesn't quite do it justice, but you can click on the image to get a larger version. The back and front cover are matt with gloss on the lettering, and the spine is all glossy.

Happy sigh.. I love it, and it's so perfect for the book.

Mmmm, new cover!

Here's the cover for BRITS IN TIME, a Total-E-Bound anthology coming in November!

I love him. It. I meant I love *it,* the cover, honest. :) Here's the blurb for my story:

BRAZEN BEHAVIOUR

Miss Eleanor Argyle has modern aspirations for a Victorian lady. The daughter of an intrepid traveller, she's confident and rebellious. After her father's death, she refuses to be chaperoned by anyone — least of all a man she'd much rather bed. She's wanted Mr Gregory Munroe for years, but she is determined not to sacrifice her independence to get him.

Gregory Munroe is both aroused and infuriated by his charge. She's stubborn, and he can sense that she's about to try to outrun him. He thwarts her, trapping her aboard a northbound train. Eleanor is secretly thrilled, and when she subsequently decides to invite him to a brazen night of passion, he barely stops to think about her motives. Can Eleanor have him, whilst also giving him the slip?

A fiery mix of passion and rebellion inspires a chase that runs the length of Britain — but neither Eleanor nor Gregory expects to find the knowledge that waits at its end.

I keep meaning to post about my progress on the WiP (work in progress) but I'm so engrossed in it the days are merging. That is a good sign, however! I'll do a catch up post and a newsletter very soon.

Worst cover :)

KINK is one of bunch of covers up for the "worst cover of 2007" award!

Sasha and I were much amused by this news! We're both of the opinion that no publicity is bad publicity. LOL! Even so, I'm surprised. It wasn't quite right for the stories (or the market) but I didn't think it was all that bad, and it certainly alerted the reader what they were going to get. :) Someone must have hated it enough to nominate it, though. Whoever you are, we thank you. :)

Romantic Times convention, book cover models, and heroes

I'm being a bad blogger, I know. I confess that the time I've had on line over the past week has been spent reading news from the Romantic Times convention and ogling photos. Attendees have been very generous with sharing the good times and I for one appreciated it hugely! Some of the reports and photo collections I've been checking out: Gennita Low, Lauren Dane, Sasha White, Lillian Feisty, and Megan Hart. Thank you, ladies!

We’re seriously thinking about RT in Orlando next year, it looks like a fun meet. I read rumours of tiffs, but tbh it didn’t bother me. I’ve been to a lot of “special interest” events that involve booze and dressing up, and they invariably involve some drink-addled antics and a bit of a punch up. It’s human nature. The half-done hotel renovations and plaster dust worried me more.

One of the things that interested me is how all these lovely ladies know the names of the cover models for the romance novels. So much fun! It’s another world I haven’t even thought about. Well, that’s not entirely true. Timothy Lantz, who does the Juno covers, is very good at attributing his models, so I know that the lovely lady who modelled for both my Juno covers is Mira Noir. She has a portfolio online but it’s down right now, otherwise I’d link.

However, what occurred to me over the past few days is that someone might recognise the models on my forthcoming RECKLESS cover, which I LOVE to bits. It’s just perfect for the book. Should I know who this hunk is? :) Is there anyone out there who can name the bare chested guy sweeping my heroine into the almost-kiss here? :)

Oh and talking of heroes, happy St George’s Day everyone! :)

New covers!

First up, here's the cover for RECKLESS, my second contemporary erotic romance, coming in 2008. I love it. It's so perfect for the story, which includes several forbidden midnight trysts on the balcony ;)

At the age of twenty-nine, London valuation expert Katrina Hammond is evolving into a stronger, more sexual woman. When she subsequently finds herself at the center of a struggle for power and dominance between two brothers, she welcomes the darkly erotic charge the situation brings.

Katrina's job is to value a collection of art objects for auction in the Catalonia villa of the Teodoro family, where Sergio Teodoro rules. Sergio is a dominant master who compels her attention. Nicolas, his younger brother - a disinherited artisan - also seeks her out. As Katrina uncovers the subterfuge surrounding the collection, she finds that there is more to Nicolas and Sergio’s battle than meets the eye, and more to her growing allegiances than may be good for her.

And here's an anthology cover, BEST MAMMOTH NEW EROTICA volume 7.

Sexy AND naughty, how can I not approve? :) My short story, WATCHING LOIS PERFORM, was selected to appear in this edition, due out December/January. WATCHING LOIS was originally published in SLAVE TO LOVE, edited by Alison Tyler and Cleis Press.

New book cover

Wow, check out the new cover I just got from my editor at Total-E-Bound. I love it...

Like the other two ebooks I have with TEB, this cover was created by Anne Cain. She's got a real knack for capturing the flavour of a story in the cover image. Love her stuff!

So what is WINNER TAKES ALL? It's a short story, due out in November. Here's the blurb:

It started as a game, but they are both playing to win.

Tina meets Shaun at a gaming weekend, a monthly meeting of eccentric game players in a British manor house. Shaun is a loner, highly competitive, and devastatingly sexy. When he challenges Tina to a sexual relationship, she can't resist.

The atmosphere of competition extends into their more intimate moments, as they pursue a fiery affair. It starts as a game, but both players soon realise they have to play their way carefully, to win the real prize. In a relationship brimming with challenge and conflict, how will the players get their opponent to reveal their true hand?

I love this story, a reworked version of a much shorter idea I had a couple of years back. And yes, there are thigh-high PVC boots in it :-)

Visitors-a-visiting

I haven't blogged here in ages, and yet according to the stats people keep calling by. Either these are random hits, or people don't believe I ain't blogging here no more. :-) Either way, I decided to put some stuff up for those visitors who do happen by. Not blogging as such, but occasional news shots and some yummy book covers and suchlike. Starting with this one:

DIRTY GIRLS, coming in February. Ahem. I have a short story called "Live Tonight" in this collection. Got to love that cover. ;-)
