Sorry about the down time, folks! I appreciate the readers and friends who call by to see if there is any news or chat from me. I do tend to go quiet when I’m struggling, but I hope to resume normal postings soon.
Amongst various stresses and pain over the last couple of weeks, we had to say goodbye to our much-loved companion, Big Cat, last week. She was around 18 years old, which is a huge innings for a pussycat, but it made letting go even harder. A writer’s cat is a constant companion... It feels as if part of me is missing, and I’ve been a wreck these past few days.
However, I’m feeling a little stronger today and I'm ready to post some photos to celebrate her life with us, and to remember every bit of love and happiness that she brought into our lives. Here she is looking gorgeous in front of our fireplace.
In her favourite bed in the garden.
The shot below was taken when she snagged the best seat in the house as soon as we took delivery of it.
This is the last photo of BC we have. It was taken the evening I got home from the RWA conference in San Francisco, 4th August. I was wading through email and downloading pics from my camera, and she kept rubbing me, welcoming me home in her own adorable way. As I had the camera to hand I took the photo, and I'm so glad I did.
I have a cat shaped hole in my heart. :( We’ll always miss you, baby.
