All about what's on the desk here

December was another chaotic month on the homefront, and that unfortunately meant I got behind with my workload. I’m happy to report I caught up quite a bit recently and everything that should have been done before year end has now gone.

Meanwhile the countdown to RAMPANT being published has officially begun. Exciting! It was around Christmas time that it struck me I only had three months to publication day. Cue a flurry of activity! I’ve got some ads and guest blogs booked already, but more to do. I’m also planning out a series of posts/articles devoted to fun stuff and background information for RAMPANT—a little bit about the history of witchcraft in Scotland, and the landscape and places that inspired me. I guess I’ll run that series during April. I’ve also put my order in for some promo postcards—check out the wonderful design that Frauke at Croco Designs has done for me! The publication day is April 1st (yes, I've had all the jokes, heh,) and it’s now listed as an upcoming book on the Harlequin website. Very exciting! My editor at Spice also updated me this week with the news that RAMPANT will soon be available to reviewers through Netgalley.com. This is a new (and impressive) service. I'll be contacting reviewers who have previously reviewed my work, once my book goes live there.

I'm now working on THE HARLOT, my second novel for Spice (due out July 2011.) I’ll be working through to the end of April on this one. I also have a short story to finish up and some revisions to do on SORCERESS (due out June 2010, this one is a revised version of Unveiling the Sorceress.) It’s going to be busy around here, but that’s always a good thing.

We’re still snowbound here in Yorkshire, and the forecast is for another ten days of this wintry weather. Shiver. I hope that wherever you are, you have lots of good company, and some hot and spicy reading to keep you warm!
