Interview, and a chance to win!

I'm over at the Fierce Romance Blog today. The Fierce Romance authors are a very talented bunch and they had some great questions for me! If you leave a comment about your favourite settings/sub-genre for an erotic romance, you'll have a chance to win a copy of RECKLESS. Just click on the banner to visit.

Coming very soon: STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT

For Patrice Reynaud, danger is the ultimate aphrodisiac. So when she rescues stranded investigative reporter Benjamin O'Neil, she insists upon helping him get his story. Patrice has always had the hots for Ben when she's watched him on TV, but seeing him in action...in the flesh...turns the temperature on her ardor way, way up.

For Ben, danger is his business, and he's always been up for anything to get a good story. But his deliciously sexy rescuer gives a whole new definition to "up for anything"...and Patrice just may turn out to be Ben's ultimate adventure.

Thrill to Book 2 in Saskia Walker's sizzling erotic series, Loving on the Edge, about the hard-working, hard-loving O'Neil brothers.

Coming on October 1st from Spice Briefs! :)

Busy writing RAMPANT, and a lovely new review for RECKLESS

I've had my head down here, working hard on RAMPANT. I'm loving the way it's turning out, but it's currently going a bit slower than I'd like. The plan was to do a fast first draft by the end of October, (and that still might be possible,) but I found (as I usually do!) that I wanted to rework the text that was the partial. I had to go back before I could move on. That is now done, and I hope to resume the "fast draft" approach and not revise until I have a whole draft. We'll see if I can do it. :)

I got a lovely boost as I was working today, a new review for RECKLESS from Eye on Romance. It gave me a great deal of encouragement, for which I'm very grateful. Here's a snippet:

I appreciated Ms. Walker’s efforts to tell an erotic tale that had more than just sex to recommend it. This story is an intriguing tale of family secrets and the things people will do for money. Ms. Walker blends this suspense very well with the erotic scenes. These scenes are spaced out so that rather than becoming repetitious, they add to the story. This story could stand alone without the sex scenes, but they compliment the development of Katrina’s relationship to the men. I thought this book was well done and shows what good erotic romance should be. 9/10 Read full review.

I hope you all are having a good week!

SPICE is coming to the UK!

There's a been a lot of buzz in the press and over the net about the Spice line coming to the UK, and I'm very excited about the news! What this means is that North American published Spice books will soon be for sale over here in the UK, possibly with different covers. This is terrific news for all the Spice authors in terms of distribution and exposure, and especially so for me - cos I will hopefully get to see a single title with my name on the cover over here in bookshops in the UK! Wooohoo!

Publication news - I had a short story in PENTHOUSE!

It’s a bit late to blog about this publication, but I only just found out about it and the magazine is still available as a back issue.

My short story, “Live Tonight,” appeared in PENTHOUSE, in the June issue! Exciting stuff! I’ve also found out that it has gorgeous illos of a rock venue! I can’t wait to see that.

“Live Tonight” is a live music fetish story and it’s one of my favourites amongst my recent short stories. It originally appeared in the DIRTY GIRLS anthology. If you didn’t read it there and you're interested in the illustrated version, here’s a buy link.

In memory of a much loved companion

Sorry about the down time, folks! I appreciate the readers and friends who call by to see if there is any news or chat from me. I do tend to go quiet when I’m struggling, but I hope to resume normal postings soon.

Amongst various stresses and pain over the last couple of weeks, we had to say goodbye to our much-loved companion, Big Cat, last week. She was around 18 years old, which is a huge innings for a pussycat, but it made letting go even harder. A writer’s cat is a constant companion... It feels as if part of me is missing, and I’ve been a wreck these past few days.

However, I’m feeling a little stronger today and I'm ready to post some photos to celebrate her life with us, and to remember every bit of love and happiness that she brought into our lives. Here she is looking gorgeous in front of our fireplace.

In her favourite bed in the garden.

The shot below was taken when she snagged the best seat in the house as soon as we took delivery of it.

This is the last photo of BC we have. It was taken the evening I got home from the RWA conference in San Francisco, 4th August. I was wading through email and downloading pics from my camera, and she kept rubbing me, welcoming me home in her own adorable way. As I had the camera to hand I took the photo, and I'm so glad I did.

I have a cat shaped hole in my heart. :( We’ll always miss you, baby.
